The Furneaux Bar
The legendary bar at Furneaux Lodge is an icon in Marlborough and
has been the most popular place to stop in for a drink in Queen
Charlotte Sound for three decades. The Furneaux Bar embodies the
spirit of the sounds, a venue for quality casual dining and
socialising in a premium yet egalitarian environment. It's a
special place where local boaties, sailors, lodge guests and the
sounds community come together.
Cosy and comfortable, having been completely
renovated to the style of the original interior of the lodge when
Captain Howden built it. Furneaux combines the tradition and
relaxing environment of the lodge with great food and modern
amenities to give you a unique and memorable night out.
The menu in the bar has a well earned
reputation for serving fresh, tasty and satisfying meals to
travellers for decades. The famous Furneaux Burger was the number
one choice of over 3000 people last summer - and always gets a
rave review, while new for this summer Chef is
serving up a choice of three unique and interesting platters; for
the gourmet, the nibblers or the imbibers.
The wine list is more extensive and carefully
crafted than ever, with a range Marlborough wines complemented by
regional specialities from Otago, Hawkes Bay and Australia.
If you are coming by boat we monitor VHF 63 -
give us a call and we will allocate a mooring and be right out to
pick you up in Bluey, the lodge tender.
